  • What is the project?
Community food hubs are a great way to connect people to where food comes from. As part of the Wales Community Food Distribution pilotprogramme, the project facilitates volunteers to link with food producers and suppliers to have easy access to healthy and great value food. Communities across Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire will have direct, funded support from a Project Development Officer in order to launch sustainable food hubs, which will focus on the needs of communities.
  • Who is it funded by?
This project has received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government. WCFD is funded to June 2023
  • What food will be available at the food hub?
Community food hubs to increase access to fresh and great value food. This can include, fruit, vegetables, salad, dairy, bread, fish, meat and more. You and your local suppliers can decide on the right choices for your community.
  • How do I find out more about WCFD?
The team are available for a chat about the food hubs until the 30th June 2023. We have a toolkit available here with resources and information about how to set up your own community food hub. You can also visit existing community food hubs shown on our food hub map on hub days.
